As a kid I just kind of dismissed this, but as an adult...what the hell kinda family would just "forget" the family dog, Isabel, while spending hours boarding up their house? Then Isabel promptly (presumably) dies...and we're supposed to feel bad...I guess even though this entire family didn't care about the dog almost at all.
